Farmers, Mechanics and Babysitters

"Why don't we pay more attention to who are farmers are? We would never be as careless choosing an auto mechanic or babysitter as we are about who grows our food."

— Michael Pollan,
The Botany of Desire: A Plant's-Eye View of the World

  1. I enjoyed reading the book. Pollen focused on four main things in the book which are apples, tulips, marijuana, and potatoes and how they play important roles in human relationships and our planet.

This article is a good summary of what the book is about for those who haven't read it yet: A Non-Review by J. Stefan

I also recommend the book Omnivore's Dilemmas written by Michael Pollen too.

  2. Four things? Interesting! Disclaimer.... I haven't read his work - but heard many good things.

Just needed a test post to make sure the auto-post to EcoDeaf's Twitter and to EcoDeaf's Facebook FanPage works - and it works! Didn't want to type Testing.... but instead found a quote to put here, smile.
