Plastics to Avoid: 3, 6 and 7

You've found the recycling code on your plastic container, but now what? The Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy's "Smart Plastics Guide" has this handy reminder: "With your food, use 4, 5, 1 and 2. All the rest aren't good for you".

  1. Note: Not all Plastics with a type '7' are bad. Distinguishing which of those that are versus those that aren't Bad '7's' might be a challenge. Here is a link explaing that some very good Plastic 7's exist and shouldn't be lumped into those that are Bad-
